Series U

Included: five concerts
Prices: 256 to 337 €

In the piano series, the audience encounters many artists who have a close connection with the Berliner Philharmoniker. New among them is the Korean pianist Yunchan Lim, who is also making his debut as a soloist with the orchestra this season. The youngest winner in the history of the Van Cliburn Competition appears here as a sensitive interpreter of Mozart. Mozart is also on the program when Mitsuko Uchida embarks on a journey from Viennese Classicism through one of Schubert’s late sonatas to the equally rigorous and expressive piano pieces of Schoenberg.

Leif Ove Andsnes devotes himself to Beethoven’s final three piano sonatas, summit works of the pianistic repertoire. Unique in a different way is Olivier Messiaen’s monumental musical profession of faith, Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant Jésus. Bertrand Chamayou performs this work, shaped by power, hymnody, and tenderness, as part of the 2027 Biennale under the title Signs & Wonders. Audiences can look forward to pianistic fireworks when Yuja Wang appears in the Philharmonie’s Main Auditorium.

In an additional concert of the series, Daniil Trifonov presents a program that spans from the Baroque to the present and from Vienna to South America. Subscribers to Series U receive a 15% discount on the single‑ticket price. Available only by phone or at the box office.
