The Berliner Philharmoniker and its principal conductor Kirill Petrenko are delighted to be ambassadors of the UN Refugee Agency since 2022. This makes them the first organisation to receive this status and to join the UN Refugee Agency's "Circle of Friends".
UN Refugee Agency has been working for more than 40 years as a national partner of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) for people on the run. It collects donations for UNHCR's worldwide operations as well as for projects for refugees in Germany, and it informs the public about flight and the causes of flight. UN Refugee Aid and the Berliner Philharmoniker are united in their concern to open up the prospect of a secure future for people on the run, in which they can once again take their fate into their own hands. The Berliner Philharmoniker support through individual campaigns and long-term projects with events and fundraising appeals, for example in context of our popular lunch and carte blanche concerts.
We would be delighted if you would join us on the path of this partnership and support this important project with your donations.
There are many ways to support the UN Refugee Agency and thus protect refugees and help them make a new start.
