Series O

Included: four concerts
Prices: 164 to 209 €

Half of the chamber orchestra series this season is dedicated to the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, whose 200th anniversary of death will be marked in March 2027. No fewer than four Beethoven symphonies are on the programme, and all concerts in the series also feature famous solo concertos by great composers.

Alina Ibragimova, who has impressive expertise in historical performance practice, promises fascinating insights into Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. Always ready to take on any artistic risk, Yuja Wang faces the challenge of performing both of Johannes Brahms’s monumental piano concertos in a single evening, together with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. The spirit of intimate dialogue between solo instrument and ensemble members, on the other hand, characterizes Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto as interpreted by Kirill Gerstein and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. The classical-romantic panorama is completed by Lisa Batiashvili with the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius: a “signature piece” of the violinist, whose international career began with winning the Sibelius Competition.
