Violinist Alina Ibragimova and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra perform some of Beethoven’s best-known works, including the Violin Concerto and the lyrical Romances for violin. The concerto spans an emotional range from gripping drama to moments of intimacy, while Ibragimova’s experience in historical performance practice brings a distinctive perspective to this familiar repertoire. The programme also includes Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, known for its compelling rhythms and its energy, by turns exuberant and fierce.
