Series B Concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker

Eine Frau in einem glitzernden Kleid sitzt lächelnd an einem Flügel auf einer schwach beleuchteten Bühne in einem leeren Konzertsaal, wobei warmes Licht sie und den Flügel beleuchtet.

Series B

Included: six concerts
Prices: 195 to 567 €

A summit meeting of pianistic excellence awaits in Subscription Series B: Yuja Wang, who will undertake Bartók’s wild First Piano Concerto, is counted among the orchestra’s – and the audience’s – most highly esteemed soloists, as is Seong-Jin Cho. For his Philharmonic debut, young pianist Yuncham Lin has chosen Rachmaninov’s Fourth Piano Concerto, a piece that is rarely performed and particularly demanding. Kirill Petrenko and the Philharmoniker will continue their explorations of overlooked composers of modernity with a programme devoted exclusively to symphonic poems by Ottorino Respighi, the Italian contemporary of Schoenberg. Klaus Mäkelä and Sakari Oramo, who belong to the impressive group of Finland’s top conductors, will interpret symphonies by their compatriot Sibelius.
