Info
They were giants: Anton Bruckner and Gustav Mahler. Both rank among the most important composers of the late Romantic era – deeply individual, yet kindred spirits in many ways. What could be more fitting than dedicating a concert to these two masters?
The young Austrian organist Lukas Hasler is a traveller between worlds. Dividing his time between Vienna and Los Angeles, he has already appeared on many major international stages. For his debut in the Philharmonie’s organ series, he joins forces with fellow Austrian Alois Mühlbacher, one of today’s most acclaimed countertenors. Alongside works by Bruckner and Mahler, the programme also features excerpts from the Symphony No. 2 by Mahler’s French contemporary Louis Vierne.
