Series A

Included: six concerts
Prices: 201 to 585 €

The season opens with works from the Berliner Philharmoniker’s core repertoire; Kirill Petrenko conducts Brahms’s First Symphony, dominated by dramatic conflicts. The programme also features key works of Russian music: Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, a powerful and painful reflection on Stalin’s rule, and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. While Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla makes her debut with the orchestra, Emmanuelle Haïm‘s baroque expertise has made her a popular and frequent guest. Yannick Nézet-Séguin brings the season to a close with Mahler’s Third Symphony, a monumental depiction of nature. The soloists in this series are exceptional artists Hilary Hahn, Lang Lang, Emanuel Ax, and Joyce DiDonato. In addition, we celebrate the 60th birthday of our Philharmonie organ with soloist Jan Liebermann.

Concerts

Yannick Nézet-Séguin, with short blond hair, stands there in a dark velvet jacket and holds a thin stick, possibly a baton. He looks thoughtfully to the side.
