Series Z Organ

Series Z

Included: four concerts
Prices: 84 €

In the 80th concert of our organ series, the Paris‑based organist Shin‑Young Lee meets Marie‑Pierre Langlamet, principal harpist of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The program features a selection in which the combination of the two instruments creates a special, delicate magic. Wayne Marshall has already appeared with the Berliner Philharmoniker as a conductor and pianist at the Waldbühne – but he is equally an outstanding organist. Together with the Philharmonic brass players, he presents a program inspired by great vocal music.

The young French pianist and organist Alma Bettencourt is among the most exciting musicians of her generation. For her debut at the Philharmonie Berlin, she has designed a first‑class symphonic program. Alongside works by Widor and Franck, Liszt’s monumental Fantasie und Fuge über “Ad nos, ad salutarem undam” will also be performed. Organ and timpani may not have much in common at first glance, yet both instruments are uniquely capable of electrifying an audience. This is demonstrated in the final concert of the series by Canadian organist Isabelle Demers and Vincent Vogel, principal timpanist of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
