Biography

Takehiro Konoe comes from a Dutch-Japanese family of musicians and began playing the violin at the age of four. He later switched to the viola, which he studied from 2016 to 2023 at the Amsterdam Conservatory under Nobuko Imai and Francien Schatborn. Konoe, who won third prize at the ARD International Music Competition in 2018, was a member of the International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, where he was taught by principal violist Diyang Mei. He gained orchestral experience through temporary engagements with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
