Sebastian Heesch has been playing the violin since he was three. He studied at the Lübeck Musikhochschule with Uwe-Martin Haiberg and then, from 1987, at the Musikhochschule of Vienna with Gerhard Hetzel. Before coming to the Berliner Philharmoniker, he was a first violin from 1988 to 1994 in the Wiener Philharmoniker. Since 1997 Heesch is a member of the Philharmonic of the Berlin Baroque Soloists.
