The Friends of the Berliner Philharmoniker e. V. are expanding their offer: as of now, you can also join the association as a “Family” or as a “Contributor”. This adds two new membership groups to the circle of Friends, each geared towards a different stage of life – families with children on the one hand, and music lovers keen to connect and meet like-minded people on the other.
The support association was founded in 1949 to help the Berliner Philharmoniker acquire a new concert hall in war-torn post-war Berlin. Today, it funds the purchase of fine instruments, supports special musical events, improves the technical facilities of the Philharmonie Berlin and helps preserve valuable documents for the archive. As a member, you support these projects – and get closer to the orchestra: through three matinees per season, the talk series “Let’s talk about music” and a visit to a rehearsal.
The two new membership schemes build directly on this. As a Family member, you get exclusive access to four tickets for family concerts each time, as early as two weeks before public sale begins, and join a dedicated family tour once a season.
As a Contributor, you secure tickets for five selected concert highlights of the season, get to chat with fellow music lovers during intervals, and round off a shared concert visit at a get-together. Membership fees are tax-deductible. You can find an overview of all our memberships on our website.
