The German Constitution is 75 years old! The Federal Government will commemorate its creation and its establish as law on May 23 and 24, 1949 with an act of state and a festival of democracy for citizens. The Berliner Philharmoniker will also be celebrating. Under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the orchestra will accompany the Act of State with music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms. Federal President Steinmeier will give the ceremonial address. The State Ceremony, which will take place on May 23, 2024 from 12:00 to 13:15 in the open air between the Federal Chancellery and Paul Löbe House, will be broadcast live online and on television (ZDF).

The celebration continues: from 24 to 26 May 2024, the federal government will hold a festival of democracy for all citizens around the Federal Chancellery and the Paul Löbe House of the German Bundestag.
