With good preparation, a concert is twice as much fun. Whether a lecture or a round of talks, our introductions with expert speakers and moderators will prepare you for the programme in a knowledgeable, informative, and entertaining way. What is special about tonight’s music? Why does it move us?  What should I listen out for? In our introductory lectures you will discover the most important facts and the best stories about the composers and their works. The perfect prelude to your concert visit.

We offer introductory events for the following concerts:

Orchestral concerts of the Berliner Philharmoniker:

When: 45 minutes before the concert starts
Where: South foyer of the Philharmonie
Duration: 20 min.

Concerts in our chamber music series Original sound, Jazz, the Philharmonic Salon, and concerts of the Karajan Academy:

When: 45 minutes before the concert starts
Where: Exhibition foyer of the Chamber Music Hall
Duration: 20 min.

Concerts of the Philharmonic chamber music and Quartet series

When: 30 minutes before the concert starts
Where: Foyer of the Chamber Music Hall
Duration: 15 min.
