The collaboration between Frank Peter Zimmerman and the Berliner Philharmoniker celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025. To mark the anniversary, the technically and musically unrivalled violinist and Kirill Petrenko will perform Edward Elgar’s late Romantic violin concerto with the orchestra for the first time. Further dazzling solo performances are in the pipeline: In addition to the debuts of soprano Fatma Said and French pianist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, who fascinate with their creative power, the programme includes artist in residence Seong-Jin Cho, who will interpret a wild work by Dmitri Shostakovich. Solo trumpeter Guillaume Jehl and principal flautist Emmanuel Pahud will be performing from the ranks of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Daniel Barenboim makes his first guest appearance with the orchestra as a Mahler interpreter.
