In this series, the Berliner Philharmoniker and guests share their enthusiasm for classical music and delve into the art of composition. They present the special features of individual instruments in moderated concerts, or invite listeners to explore new musical landscapes.

In the first concert, you can hear the Moldau river rushing past in Bedřich Smetana’s Má Vlast (My Country), a musical homage to the composer’s Czech homeland. Ludwig van Beethoven also drew inspiration from nature for his Symphony No. 6, nicknamed the "Pastoral," which takes center stage in the third family concert. The sounds of birdsong, swirling streams, and crackling lightning bring bucolic landscapes right into the concert hall, through the musical interpretation of Beethoven’s music by the Berliner Philharmoniker under the direction of Kirill Petrenko. Hornist Sarah Willis and her colleagues bring the festival season to life in our Christmas special Queen of Christmas, featuring Sebastian Heindl on the organ. For the grand finale in March, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker are joined by the music and comedy duo Carrington-Brown and children's songwriter Suli Puschban. Both young and old can sing along with Classical Rocks across various musical styles.

A seasonal programme booklet complements the four family concerts. Here too, everything revolves around music, with creative ideas for participation, guessing games, and craft activities.
