For children between 3 and 5 years
Sometimes a lifelong love of music begins with a moment of wonder. The participatory concerts of the Berliner Philharmoniker are not a cautious introduction, but a bold leap into a sonic adventure – for children aged three to five and for adults who want to remember how a first encounter with music once changed their world.
In the spacious Upper Foyer of the Chamber Music Hall, the room itself becomes a playmate. Here, children may laugh, dance, clap, and listen. The youngest guests sit on cosy cushions in the best seats: right at the edge of the stage, at the heart of the musical action. No words are needed. Two performers tell stories through movement and play, sparking the imagination. Music becomes movement, and movement becomes music. Participation is enthusiastically encouraged.
Musically, the highest artistic standard is ensured. Members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Karajan Academy create a shimmering world of sound and present the rich colour palette of the orchestra’s instruments. Each encounter sounds different: string instruments whisper and glitter, wind instruments flash and shine, percussion beats and vibrates.
And when the last note has faded? The colourful adventure continues. A lovingly designed season booklet full of craft ideas and puzzles goes home with each family – an invitation to extend and rediscover what they have heard.
