Written in a German prisoner-of-war camp, Olivier Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps became one of the twentieth century’s most significant works of chamber music. It is performed here amid Night, an exhibition by the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, winner of the 2026 Preis der Nationalgalerie. Music and art thus approach the end of time together.
