Twelve cellos, an unmistakable sound and imaginative arrangements: the 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker are among the world’s best-known chamber ensembles. The programme is still to be announced, but it will reflect the blend of depth, humour and levity that has become the ensemble’s trademark. The group will be joined by Yo-Yo Ma, whose repertoire likewise extends well beyond the classical tradition to embrace jazz, folk, tango, and music from around the world.
