Michael Wollny has long been one of the most adventurous figures on the European jazz scene. In this programme, the pianist revisits four of his musical projects, each exploring different styles, collaborations and sound worlds. In his solo Winterreise, he reimagines Schubert’s famous song cycle as darkly Romantic jazz improvisations.
Baroque music meets jazz in duos with harpsichordist Tamar Halperin and trombonist Nils Landgren. The programme concludes with Out of Land, featuring Andreas Schaerer, Émile Parisien and Vincent Peirani – a quartet that moves freely between lyricism, energy and experimentation.
