    Info

Kirill Petrenko conducts a programme filled with evocative landscapes: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the “Pastoral”, is a tribute to country life incorporating a wide panorama of human emotion. Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture transports us to Scotland and the legendary Fingal’s Cave. Norway’s landscapes are conjured in Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto, for which Leif Ove Andsnes is the soloist. With its echoes of Nordic folk tradition, the piece includes solo passages which suggest the presence of trolls and elves.
