Lions roar, elephants dance, hens cluck, tortoises plod and swans glide across the stage. Camille Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals brings the animal kingdom vividly to life in music. Even prehistoric fossils and a cheeky cuckoo join the fun. Members of the Berliner Philharmoniker invite audiences on an entertaining musical journey full of humour, imagination, and virtuosity. The composer transforms animals into unforgettable musical characters – a classic for listeners of all ages.
