Info
Marek Janowski has described Anton Bruckner as a “Baroque Romantic” – a formulation that reflects the dual character of his music. Janowski reveals the music’s complex layers while allowing its radiant colours to shine through. Janowski has appeared with the Berliner Philharmoniker as a Bruckner interpreter on several occasions. This season, he turns to the monumental Symphony No. 8 – a work which unfolds on an unusually broad scale, in which tension is generated less through overt drama than through gradual accumulation and release.
