At the invitation of the Berliner Philharmoniker
Info
From street music-making to international acclaim: the London-based ensemble She’Koyokh draws on the rich folk music traditions of Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Turkey. Klezmer melodies, love songs from Anatolia, Bosnian vocal music and dance music from Serbia to Ukraine evoke a world of melancholy and longing, featuring the distinctive voice of Alevi-Kurdish singer Çiğdem Aslan. The ensemble’s name is Yiddish and roughly translates as “well done!”.
