One year into Donald Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office, Europeans are reassessing the transatlantic relationship. What does Trump’s second presidency mean for today’s Germany — for the country in the middle of Europe, still the world’s third-strongest industrial nation? What challenges arise in light of new military threats to Europe, the withdrawal of the United States as a guarantor power, and the danger of falling behind both technologically and economically? These questions will be discussed by former foreign minister Joschka Fischer and Zeit journalist Rieke Havertz with Christiane Florin.
