Berliner Philharmoniker

The architect Jean Nouvel, like Hans Scharoun, was inspired by water and ships. Lucerne's Culture and Convention Centre, known as the KKL Luzern, is located directly on the lake Vielwaldstädtersee and incorporates the surrounding water into the building. Water channels separate the concert hall wing, the Lucerne hall wing and the congress and museum wing into three independent building sections, creating the impression of a large shipyard. With so many aquatic references, the Berliner Philharmoniker feels very much at home. After all, the architect of the Berlin Philharmonie made use of at least as many nautical elements.
