Our annual collaborative concert with our partner, the German National Youth Orchestra (Bundesjugendorchester), is a cherished tradition at the Easter Festival. It is always a very special pleasure for the members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, since many of them used to be in the BJO themselves. This year’s programme included Antonín Dvořák's String Serenade, songs by Alma Mahler and Richard Strauss’ famous Also sprach Zarathustra. In this video, violinist and media director Philipp Bohnen talks about the preparations for the concert, and the experiment the orchestra made together with the young musicians.
The Berliner Philharmoniker’s education programme has been made possible by Deutsche Bank since its inception in 2002. The aim of both partners is to make the work of the orchestra accessible to a wide audience and to inspire people of all ages for music and culture.
