According to tradition, the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Asia tour begins with a guest concert at the Alte Oper Frankfurt. From the metropolis on the Main river, the intercontinental journey continues. This year, under the direction of their Chief Conductor, the musicians presented a programme featuring Robert Schumann’s Manfred Overture, Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 – works that also form part of the subsequent tour repertoire.
