The Berliner Philharmoniker and chief conductor Kirill Petrenko are delighted to become ambassadors of the UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe. This makes them the first organisation to receive this status and to join the UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe’s “Circle of Friends”. The new partnership will start on 19 September with a concert: Kirill Petrenko will conduct the Berliner Philharmoniker in a moderated family concert based on the ballet music “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky.
The German UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe has been working for refugees for over 40 years as a national partner of the United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR. It collects donations for UNHCR’s worldwide operations as well as for projects for refugees in Germany, and it provides information to the public about refugees and the causes of displacement.
The UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe and the Berliner Philharmoniker are united in their desire to help people who have had to flee their homes to find a secure future in which they can once again take control of their own destiny. We would be delighted if you would join us in our efforts and support this important project with your donations.
There are many ways to support the UN Refugee Agency and thus protect refugees and help them make a new start.
