“I am like a dog in the forest that follows its nose. Always wondering: what is that smell?” Artist in Residence Patricia Kopatchinskaja is a remarkable violinist for whom it is not enough to make excellent music. She is tireless in her search for new things, she experiments, she questions, she challenges – and she takes the audience by the hand in a compelling way, even with difficult programmes. This makes it easy to get involved in new musical experiences.

In January, you can experience the violinist in two exciting concerts that are packed with surprises.

Late Night »Nonsense in Residence«

Our Late-Night- Concerts are not for sleepyheads. When other concertgoers are on their way home, this is where things are just getting started. And when violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja appears in a Late Night concert, one thing is certain: it will be an unusual night. For the first time, the Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker can be heard as a composer, presenting her own duos for violin and clarinet. The programme is packed with musical and other surprises. We can assure you: you have certainly never experienced a concert like this before.

Trailer: The »Late Night« will include a video of Kurt Schwitters’ Ursonate.
