Extensive road closures during marathon week

Several marathon events are scheduled for the weekend of 23 and 24 September in Berlin. Therefore, there will be several road closures. Please allow sufficient time for your journey and check the traffic situation.
Overview: Road closures during the marathon week
According to the Berlin Traffic Information Centre (VIZ), the Straße des 17. Juni between Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße and Ebertstraße will already be closed on Monday. Further closures will follow on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
From Wednesday, Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße will also be closed to traffic. On Friday morning, the area around the Brandenburg Gate including Ebertstraße between Behrenstraße and Scheidemannstraße will be closed. In the afternoon, John-Foster-Dulles-Allee and the area between the Chancellery and the Reichstag will follow. Ben-Gurion-Straße, Potsdamer Straße between Reichpietschufer and Stresemannstraße as well as Unter den Linden in the direction of Alexanderplatz between Pariser Platz and Friedrichstraße are no longer passable from Saturday noon.
Closure of the marathon route from Saturday noon
On Saturday from 2 pm onwards, the approximately 42-kilometre marathon route through the city will be kept clear for skaters. The running course will be reopened to traffic from around 7pm. On Sunday, the route will again be closed to traffic between 7 am and about 5 pm. The route will be opened successively after it has been cleaned.
Motorway and tunnels to cross the routes for motorists
The marathon will start again this year on Straße des 17. Juni in the direction of Charlottenburg and run through Moabit, Mitte, Kreuzberg, Schöneberg, Wilmersdorf, Steglitz and back through Charlottenburg and Schöneberg to the Brandenburg Gate. Drivers can only cross the route via the city ring road (A 100 motorway) or the tunnels at Alexanderplatz and Tiergarten.
