The Berliner Philharmoniker and Wu Promotion postpone Shanghai residency planned for June 2022 until June 2024
The Berliner Philharmoniker’s Shanghai residency, which was supposed to have taken place at this time following the successful Waldbühne concert, has been postponed until June 2024. The current pandemic situation had forced the orchestra to cancel the 2022 residency. The Berliner Philharmoniker and Wu Promotion have agreed to postpone the residency until the summer of 2024.
As originally planned for 2022, the residency will feature concerts under the baton of chief conductor Kirill Petrenko as well as a variety of education and outreach projects and chamber music concerts. The aim of the Berliner Philharmoniker is to reach as many people in Shanghai as possible. Further details will be announced at a later date.
