Redevelopment work around the Philharmonie

12 Feb 2019

The redevelopment of the Kulturforum, which is being carried out by Grün Berlin GmbH, is entering the next phase of construction: with immediate effect, Scharounstraße is now completely closed to traffic. Matthäikirchplatz can no longer be accessed by this route. The underground car park of the Philharmonie can now only be reached via Potsdamer Straße, however, this could change during this construction phase.

Parking facilities for taxis and vehicles carrying people with reduced mobility are now on Matthäikirchplatz, which is no longer a through road and can only be approached from Sigismundstraße. Footpaths provide direct access to the Philharmonie and the chamber music hall; but this could change during the construction phase.

During this whole period, there is no parking for coaches. In contrast to the last phase of construction, the bus stops remain unchanged: The bus line 200 has a temporary stop at the Philharmonie in Tiergartenstraße. For the M41 bus, a stop with traffic lights and turning area has been set up on Potsdamer Straße. We recommend that all visitors to the Philharmonie use public transport or, if arriving by car, park in the underground car park at Potsdamer Platz or in the Sony Center.

If you have any questions about these or future construction measures at the Kulturforum, please contact Grün Berlin GmbH.
