The Berliner Philharmoniker mourn the loss of former general manager Franz Xaver Ohnesorg, who has died at the age of 75. Franz Xaver Ohnesorg held leading positions at major music institutions, including the Munich Philharmonic, the Cologne Philharmonie and Carnegie Hall in New York. In particular, he had a huge impact on the Ruhr Piano Festival after taking over as artistic director in 1996. As general manager of the Berliner Philharmoniker between September 2001 and October 2002, Franz Xaver Ohnesorg played a key role in the orchestraʼs transformation into a foundation. Our deepest condolences to his family.
