Live and free of charge on Facebook: Brahms’s Second Symphony with Simon Rattle

03 Nov 2016

This Friday, you are invited to a technological premiere: for the first time, a performance of the Berliner Philharmoniker will be broadcast live on Facebook – free of charge – to celebrate the 1,000,000th “like” on the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Facebook page. The broadcast will show the second half of the orchestra’s concert with Sir Simon Rattle conducting Johannes Brahms’s Second Symphony.

The Berliner Philharmoniker have been active on Facebook since 2009. Every day, friends of the orchestra get all the latest information about concerts and projects, they can view video clips and exchange information in the comments: a lively, music-loving community – incidentally, the largest online community of an orchestra world-wide.

You can of course also follow the upcoming live stream in the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall. Here, you can also view the first part of the concert, which includes works by Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg and Anton Webern.
