Klaus Rauscher succeeds Manfred Erhardt

Friends of the Berliner Philharmoniker e. V. has a new chairman: Prof. Dr. Klaus Rauscher succeeded Prof. Manfred Erhardt on March 21. A graduate in law and business, he began his career in the Bavarian finance ministry. He was Director of the Bavarian state premier’s office, member of the management board at Bayerische Landesbank, CEO of the Hamburg Electricitäts-Werke and Vattenfall Europe AG.

Since 2008 he has been an independent business consultant with supervisory and advisory mandates in well-known European companies. In addition to his professional activities, Klaus Rauscher has held cultural honorary positions for many years, including as a trustees or on the board of friends of the Munich Opera Festival, the Staatsoper unter den Linden Berlin, and the Bayreuth Festival. For ten years, he has been a member of the board of trustees of the Friends of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
