Cancellation by Angela Denoke

The soprano Angela Denoke has been obliged for medical reasons to cancel her participation in the concerts of the Berliner Philharmoniker with Gianandrea Noseda on 22, 24 and 25 May 2015. In her place, the soprano Camilla Nylund will sing Richard Strauss’ Four Last Songs, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda who makes his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in these concerts.

The Finnish Camilla Nylund is a leading lyric dramatic soprano and is a regular guest at major opera houses such as in Vienna, Tokyo, Helsinki and Paris. Together with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker, she sang Leonore in Beethoven's Fidelio in Japan in November 2004. In the orchestra's Berlin concerts, Camilla Nylund made her debut in December 2005; She was most recently heard in April 2008 under Sir Simon's direction in Webern's Cantata no. 2 and as a soloist in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
