Concerts with the Berliner Philharmoniker
Principal conductor Kirill Petrenko can be experienced in action twice in this series. He will tread a path through Classicism, Romanticism and Modernism with famous works by Mozart, Brahms and Berg. Another special evening is in store when he collaborates for the very first time with Artist-in-Residence Lisa Batiashvili. Also certain to be a high point: Gustavo Dudamel, acclaimed for his Mahler interpretations, will conduct the composer’s bleakly powerful Sixth Symphony. Two further large-scale, sonorous symphonies will be heard in concerts of Bruckner, with Daniel Harding conducting the popular “Romantic” Fourth Symphony and François-Xavier Roth performing the Third. Making his debut, conductor Fabio Luisi will be joined by the world-renowned pianist Evgeny Kissin.
