On Sunday, 12 June 2022, the Berliner Philharmoniker invite you to an open day at the Philharmonie Berlin and the Digital Concert Hall with a free music programme entitled “Sharing Music”.

With this offer for all young and old Berliners, the Berliner Philharmoniker is starting the anniversary of its education programme, which was initiated 20 years ago in June 2002 and since then has reached several 10,000 people per season.

Programme

On Open Day, the entire Philharmonie will be buzzing, singing and vibrating. At many different stations, our visitors can experience many musical activities in addition to the concerts: from a QR quiz created by the Digital Concert Hall, to hands-on activities such as singing workshops and instrument-making stations, to photo walls, sound garden on the forecourt and a silent disco.

The day begins and ends in the Great Hall, where the 12 cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker will perform the opening concert at around 11 am. Under the direction of principal conductor Kirill Petrenko, the Berliner Philharmoniker will end the day with a concert at 6 pm.

The Vokelhelden will make the Philharmonic Garden resound with concerts and workshops. Members of the Berliner Philharmoniker will give master classes for interested listeners. On guided tours for children and others, you can discover the Philharmonie from unusual perspectives. Those with an affinity for technology can take a look at the studio of the Digital Concert Hall. It is also worth taking a detour to the Musical Instrument Museum, where a treasure hunt and instrument rarities, presented by the museum director, await visitors.

We look forward to your visit!
