Berliner Philharmoniker
Our partner Deutsche Bank

When
September to June every Wednesday at 1 pm

Duration
approx. 40 to 50 minutes

Admission
free

You can simply go to a concert at the Philharmonie, spontaneously, during your lunch break – and with free admission: every Wednesday at 13:00 between September and June. Then the foyer of the main auditorium fills up for the lunch concert with a mixed audience of all ages, from Berlin tourists to business people.

The programme lasts 40 to 50 minutes: often chamber music, piano works or a percussion duo – everything from Tchaikovsky to tango. Members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Karajan Academy regularly perform, as well as guests from the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Berlin music conservatories. As you would expect of a lunchtime concert, a catering service is also available which is of equal quality and value for money.

Lunch concerts
Everything you need to know

When: September to June every Wednesday at 1 pm
Duration: approx. 40 to 50 minutes
Admission: free. For security reasons, however, the number of listeners at the lunch concerts is limited. Each visitor receives a chip at the entrances to the Philharmonie. This chip must be returned when passing through the barrier to the foyer. It is not possible to reserve chips or to have a chip handed over to you in order to then leave the Philharmonie again.

Seating: There is no seating. For safety reasons, folding chairs are not permitted. A limited number of seats are available for visitors with a valid disabled pass.

Food Offer: From 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., you can enjoy various dishes for under 10 euros. From pasta  to salads, soups, and falafel bowls, there are always vegetarian options available. Please note that it is not permitted to bring your own food and drinks.

Age recommendation: Visitors of all ages are welcome at the Lunch concerts as a rule. Please note, however, that the Lunch concerts are not aimed explicitly at children. Out of consideration for the performing artists and the other concert guests, we would ask parents who wish to bring their children to consider before visiting a Lunch concert if their child is in a position to remain quietly seated for approx. 45 minutes.
