Vocal

Series V is a celebration of voices and ranges from classic lieder recitals to orchestral concerts. As a prelude, soprano Sabine Devieilhe and pianist Alexandre Tharaud whisk you away to the intimate yet passionate world of French song. Elīna Garanča and her accompanist Malcolm Martineau present works by Strauss and Rachmaninov as well as Spanish songs and zarzuelas. Mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre and the countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński dazzle in virtuoso and emotionally charged Baroque arias. Finally, chief conductor Kirill Petrenko will present two famous sacred works by Mozart: the virtuoso motet “Exsultate, jubilate” with Rosa Feola as the soloist, and the “Coronation Mass”.
