The brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen epitomize the new, young generation of piano duos – dynamic, virtuosic, charismatic. Beyond that, the pair possess an entertainer’s qualities that make their appearances into events. This evening they will bring us along on their foray through the music for piano, four hands: from Mozart’s charming Sonata K. 521 to Jörg Widmann’s Bunte Blätter, a collection of humorous, ironic piano miniatures. The weightiest piece on the programme is Rachmaninoff’s Second Suite, with its breathtaking virtuosity and inspired melodies.
