Do heroines and heroes still have a place in today's world? Our guests at this Philharmonic Discourse, led by host Christiane Florin, take quite contrary positions on this question: Philosopher Dieter Thomä pleads for a “contemporary heroism”, for people who commit themselves to a certain cause and inspire us with their ideas and behaviour. The writer Kerstin Hensel, on the other hand, is of the opinion that a humane coexistence requires the active commitment of each of us, but not heroism.
