This family has rhythm in its blood: Djamchid Chemirani, who comes from Tehran, is a master of the zarb, the Persian drum. He has passed on his musicality, virtuosity and joy of playing to his two sons Keyvan and Bijan. As the Trio Chemirani, they are one of the most fascinating ensembles on the world music scene. In their programme Rhythm Alchemy, supported by the Greek lyre player Sokratis Sinopoulos, the percussionist Prabhu Edouard and other musicians, they fuse European and Far Eastern sound cultures.
