The 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker

Every orchestra has a cello group, but only the Berliner Philharmoniker have one with cult status. The 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker were founded in 1972 as an independent formation and quickly became one of the most internationally successful chamber music ensembles. What makes them so successful is that whether classical, jazz, tango or avant-garde, the arrangements in their programmes bring out the warm, brilliant and nuanced sound of the group in a captivating way.
