Welcome Back Week

Vienna coffee house music

The Philharmonic String Quintet is, in a sense, a miniature orchestra. After all, it represents all five string groups of an orchestra, from the double bass to the first violin. In our Welcome Back Week, the ensemble recreates the atmosphere of a Viennese coffee house in the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie Berlin with lively, sparkling and entertaining compositions by Joseph Lanner, Carl Maria von Weber, Giovanni Bottesini, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Pablo Sarasate.
