German National Youth Orchestra and National Youth Ballet

The German National Youth Orchestra is where the next generation of musicians plays: Germany’s best young instrumentalists experience what it’s like to play in an orchestra under professional conditions. As many members of the Berliner Philharmoniker used to play there themselves, they took over patronage of the orchestra in 2013. Since then, the German National Youth Orchestra has made an annual guest appearance at the Philharmonie Berlin. This season, the programme features the National Youth Ballet in addition to works by Richard Strauss and Maurice Ravel.
