Recital with Sonya Yoncheva

She launched her career when she stepped in for Anna Netrebko; today she is an opera star herself. The Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva is regarded as one of the best Verdi interpreters of our time. She has already been heard in this repertoire with the Berliner Philharmoniker: she sang the role of Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello under Zubin Mehta in Baden-Baden and Berlin in 2019. Her voice combines lightness and flexibility with brilliance and drama. Now she demonstrates her artistic qualities in a song recital with Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau.
