Philharmonic Salon: On the trail of Giacomo Casanova

Womanizer and adventurer: the extraordinary and moving life of Giacomo Casanova still fascinates us today. He was a priest, prisoner in the Leads of Venice, private tutor, secretary, spy and lover of influential and beautiful women. His memoirs, from which Rufus Beck will read excerpts, are a fascinating reflection of 18th-century society. Concerto Melante provides the musical backdrop for this first Philharmonic Salon of the 2021/22 season with compositions from that time.
