Programme

This concert could be called “Tabea & Friends” because Artist in Residence Tabea Zimmermann has enlisted a number of outstanding artists for this unusual and eclectic chamber music programme: in addition to musicians and soloists from the Berliner Philharmoniker, pianist Francesco Piemontesi and contralto Gerhild Romberger will also appear. With them the violist presents the song cycle Die junge Magd (The Young Maid), in which Paul Hindemith describes the loneliness and longing for love of a poor maiden in evocative musical images.
