Programme

The focus of this concert is Erwin Schulhoff, who was one of the most exciting and important composers of the 1920s. Schulhoff composed several works inspired by Dadaism, which he prefaced with Dada prologues that he wrote himself. “The divine spark can be found in a liverwurst as well as in a contrabassoon,” Schulhoff wrote in his prologue to Bass Nightingale for contrabassoon. Delightful nonsense, introduced by actress Sophie Rois. At the end we hear a recited orgasm in the Sonata erotica. All Dada, or what?
